I love dogs

I love dogs a lot. I have grown up with them when I was young. Our first pet was Holly, a alsation-rajapalayam cross whose mom had been in an estate and killed a robber in an attempt to project the property (so Dad tells me - I have no idea if its true). Holly didnt have the mad instincts of its mom. She was a kind dog, but possessive of its owners. She loved my Dad a lot. Me and my sister were very little-around 4 and 3 years when Holly came into our life. We were naturally scared of the huge dog when we were small but we loved its babies. One of them was Lovely, so Dad named because she was really lovely. But she died because of Rabies.

Holly died when she was 11 years old. We had got another dog, a pomeranean called Fluffy. She was there when Holly died. She gave birth to her first set of babies the day after Holly died. She was a lovely dog, a white girl with big huge eyes that conveyed so much, all that she wanted to tell us, which was mostly "I am hungry, feed me!" She had a special affection for my Mom and her sarees. She loves it if we keep petting her with our legs under her neck, rather than our hands on her head. It was actually good, because I had to use my hands for the other two poms we eventually had. She got used to getting petted with the feet because she always used to sleep with my parents, her head on my Dad's feet. She died three years ago. I didnt get to see her before she died.

The other two dogs we had and are still alive are Gremlin and Cherry - Father and Daughter. Gremlin was named by my Mom after the movie, "Gremlins". I named Fluffy and Cherry. Dad named Holly and Lovely. We never let my younger sister do any naming; she came up with names like Sherry and something else silly than this one. Gremlin is a very nice guy, but he doesnt like socialising much. We suspect he has now become deaf and blind, because he is having difficulty in recognising us from a distance. He is old, around 11 years now so this is to be expected. He loves it if I keep him close to me, with my hand on him all the time. I dont have to stroke him or anything, I just need to keep my hand on him. He loves to pee on my sister's bed. My sister doesnt go near him at all. They have this mutual hate for each other!

Cherry is the most sweetest dog we ever had. She is quite a personality to write about. She doesnt care about anybody except us. She is the most carefree among the dogs we've had; so carefree that she doesnt even bother about her babies when she has them. We have to remind her to go to them to feed them and take care of them. Most of the time, she leaves them and runs away to play with the other two. She is 8 years old now. Both Cherry and Gremlin are brown in colour. Cherry is very short than Gremlin. She is not a pure pom, only Gremlin is among the poms we've had. Cherry is very agile. She can dodge anyone, climb chairs and sneak into the house when there is a tiny gap in the door, while Gremlin just watches on and whines. She loves walks, so everytime we get ready to take her out, she knows it, grabs her leash and runs to the gate and waits for us to come and get her.

We had another pom, Fresco (named by Mom), for a few weeks. He was a black-and-white pom, and very naughty, so naughty that it cost him his life. I dont remember much about him, except that the episode that happened the day we got him. Dad told us we have a new pup as soon as we came back from school and told us the pup was hiding under the bed. Ofcourse it was scared of us because we were so excited and stayed hidden. We wanted to lure it out, so me and my sister took two stainless steel plates and two spoons, one for each of us, and kept banging it under the bed to get it out. Poor thing, he was scared to death!
